[WORLD CUP 2018/22 BIDS] The United States was only contender for the 2022 World Cup to get a 100 percent rating in the “World Cup Host Candidate
Report,” commissioned by FIFA and prepared by consulting firm McKinsey & Co. to evaluate the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bids for five key revenue streams: sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality,
licensing and media rights.
The USA was followed by Japan with 73 percent, South Korea 71 percent, Qatar 70 percent and Australia with 68 percent.
"We are certainly pleased that it confirms many of the things we have been saying in our bid," said USA Bid 2022 chairman Sunil Gulati.
Few believe these management reports and inspection reports prepared by FIFA and its consultants will be the deciding factor.
"McKinsey are not voting," said Australian soccr supremo Frank Lowy.
