Andrea Biondi, an amateur player in Italy, has been banned for 20 months for trying to shove the referee’s whistle down the official’s throat after he was sent off.
During a 2-2 tie between Florence-based team Albereta 72 at Sancat, Albereta 72’s Biondi was red-carded for insulting the ref, then grabbed the back of his head and tried to force the whistle intohis mouth.
