Azerbaijan's German coach Berti Vogts had a roll of toilet paper thrown at him -- and he was presented with a jug of water of the type used in Muslim countries to wash after using
the toilet -- during a press conference following Azerbaijan's 2-1 loss to rival Kazakhstan in European Championship qualifying.
Vogts, who coached Germany to the 1996 European Championship title and has also been at the helm of Scotland, Kuwait and Nigeria, took over Azerbaijan in 2008 but has won just two competitive games in three years.
He said the "attack" would not prevent him from continuing to coach the team but be he would "discuss the next steps with my lawyers."
Vogts told Germany's SID agency: "I would have long ago left if it were not for my friendship with the federation president. I have experienced many things but nothing like that. I do not have the words to describe this."
