[MLS] Sporting Kansas City won the rights to Soony Saad, the 2010 Soccer America Freshman of the Year at Michigan, in a lottery held on Tuesday.

In January, Saad left the Wolverines with the hope of signing with a European club.

Saad finished second in the country with 19 goals in 2010 and helped Michigan reach the Men's College Cup for the first time.

Saad was the 2010 Gatorade National High School Player of the Year at Dearborn (Mich.) High School and one of the most heralded players to ever come out of Michigan.

His brother, Hamoody, is a sophomore at Michigan.
