U.S. striker Jozy Altidore has signed a four-year deal with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.

The 21-year-old who debuted for the New York Red Bulls at age 16 has been undercontract with Spanish La Liga club Villarreal since 2007 but played only nine games for the “Yellow Submarine.”

Villarreal loaned him to Spanish second division Xerez, England’s Hulland Turkey’s Bursaspor.

He has 39 U.S. caps and 12 goals for the USA, for which he played at the 2010 World Cup.
