[WAKE FOREST-LOUISVILLE] It was approaching midnight when No. 1 Louisville finally broke through and scored twice to beat No. 24 Wake Forest, 2-0, in a gamewhose start was delayed for two hours by early evening thunderstorms.

“The guys are growing up. They’re not scared to play, and we’re learning how to win” Wakecoach Jay Vidovich said. “We got a tremendous lesson in how to win from Louisville.”

Cardinal goalie Andre Boudreaux made a point-blank save on Luca Gimenez in the 12th minute and two big saves on DannyWenzel and Jared Watts early in the second half to keep the Demon Deacons off the board.

Louisville finally broke through when UCLA transferMichael Roman scored his first collegiate goal on a header in the 64th minute, and Preseason All-American Colin Rolfeiced the win with his second goal of the season on a through ball from Ryan Smith in the 84th minute.

“We changed our formation from the lastgame [2-0 loss to USF] and we just wanted to be ready for their press,” Gimenez said. “We wanted to play together because, we knew if we did, we could beat them. Unfortunately, we made twomistakes and they beat us.”
