Hamburg's Peruvian striker, Paolo Guerrero, who has a well-documented fear of flying, missed the German club's friendly Saturday in Switzerland against FC Lucerne after
becoming so tense on the flight that he cramped up and suffered a thigh muscle injury.
“We know about Paolo’s fear of flying,” Hamburg coach Michael Oenning. “He became cramped up in his seat and suffered a stiffening of the muscles. I think Paolo will get fit quickly and should play at the weekend against Werder Bremen.”
Guerrero, who was the top scorer at the 2011 Copa America, boarded and got off a plane four times in Lima last year before returning to Germany.
