[SETON HALL-MARYLAND] No. 1 Maryland outshot Seton Hall, 23-6, and had a 13-0 edge in corner kicks but had to settle for a 0-0 tie with the Pirates before asell-out crowd of 1,800 fans in South Orange, N.J., on Tuesday night.

Maryland leading scorer Casey Townsend had the game’s best chance in thefirst half but his header clanged off the crossbar.

“We played some really good soccer tonight against a highly-determined and defensively committed team,” Maryland coachSasho Cirovski said.  “We did everything but put the ball into the back of the net.  We had two great looks in the first half with one going offthe cross bar and another just wide.  We will learn from tonight and move on to Saturday.”

The Terrapins play at Virginia Tech Saturday in ACC action.
