[BIG 12] Megan Majewski‘s goal with nine seconds left gave Texas A&M a 1-0 victory over top-seeded Oklahoma State inthe Big 12 final on Sunday at San Antonio’s Blossom Soccer Stadium. The loss was the first in 22 games for the Cowgirls.

Majewski’s shot came after Kelley Monogue, the Big 12 Newcomer and Offensive Player of the Year, split defenders and fired in a shot that hit off the crossbar.

“I knew that [Monogue] was goingto have a chance,” Majewski said. “If she didn’t we all had to be there behind her, and get it if she didn’t. It came pretty much right to me. I trapped it and got a good hiton it.”

A&M came into the tournament with the nation’s No. 2 attack, but the Aggies’ defense kept them in the game.

“It should give us confidence for thepostseason, shouldn’t it?,” A&M coach G Guerrieri said. “Our defense was solid all night. But it was an extraordinary effort to get itdone; Kelley to keep it going and Megan to keep her head and finish it to the back post.”
