[NJCAA DIVISION I MEN] Tyler Junior College opened its bid for a third straight NJCAA Division I men’s title with an 8-0 demolition of the College of SouthernMaryland.

TJC’s 8-0 win is the most lopsided win in the national tournament since 2001 when Yavapai beat Schoolcraft, 8-0.

Germans SamuelHossieni and Maxi Wuttge led the way with two goals apiece. German Daniel Werken, Jamaican Oneil Fisher, Anis Abdulgasem and Joe Pratt had one goal apiece.

TheApaches advance to the semifinals, where they will play Cloud County (Kan.), a 4-0 winner over Lincoln.

In the other half of the bracket, top seed Darton defeated Pima, 1-0, and will meetMonroe, which beat Iowa Western on penalty kicks after their game ended 1-1.
