[LOUISVILLE-BRADLEY] A rainy Sunday night could not dissuade a crowd of more than 7,000 fans from showing up at Cardinal Park for Louisville’s second-round gamein the NCAA Men’s Tournament, and they were treated to a thriller as the Cardinals beat Bradley, 3-2, in overtime.

The Cardinals came back from a goal down to go ahead with goals by Colin Rolfe and Kenney Walker 42 seconds apart in the 87th minute, but Bradley equalized with 26 seconds left in regulation ona goal by Bryan Gaul.

Cardinal Greg Cochrane‘s shot from 25 yards out bounced off the right post early inthe second overtime before Louisville won the game when Nick De Leon scored on a header with a little more than two minutes left in overtime.

Louisville coach Ken Lolla said the game reflected the up-and-down season the Cardinals have had. They began the season ranked No. 1 in the Soccer Americapreseason rankings but slipped in midseason, going 2-4-1 over a span of seven games.

‘At no point,” said Lolla, “did ourplayers stop or lose heart or find excuses. In the end they kept on working.”

  1. It was Andrew Farell, from Louisville, who shot the ball to Brock Granger, who hit it in the box, where Nick De Leon headed the ball to score the winning goal in the last couple of minutes of the game against Bradley! Exciting game!
