West Bromwich Albion coach Roy Hodgson is open to the idea of a loan for New York defender Tim Ream, who has finished up a week of training with the Premier Leagueclub.

“He has done very well,” said Hodgson. “He has made a good impression on everybody and we think he’s going to be a good player. We would consider a loan, absolutely.”

The short stint was apparently enough to convince Hodgson, who coached U.S. attacker Clint Dempsey at Fuham before Hodgson moved onto Liverpool and then WestBrom. Ream, 24, who has just two years of pro experience and seven U.S. caps, will also train with Bolton this month.

“Could he play in the Premier League? Yes, I think he could,”said Hodgson.
