[HIGH SCHOOL] Paramount and St. Augustine won boys titles at the CIF Southern California boys regional championships. California doesn’t organize a statechampionship for soccer but does organize a regional championship for soccer in Southern California.

Paramount won its second regional title in three years with a 2-1 victory overpreviously unbeaten Crescenta Valley in the Division I final.

Jesus Alvarez and Miguel Rueda scored for the Pirates. Salar Hajimirsadeghi had the only goal for Crescenta Valley, which finished with a 22-1-7 record.

St. Augustine of San Diego defeated Lindsay, 2-1, on Kostas Kotselas‘ overtime goal in the Division II final.

Lindsay, a farm town located onthe base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the San Joaquin Valley, had sent the game into overtime on Abraham Bettencourt‘s last-minute goal.
