Big-spending Paris St. Germain suffered its first loss of the season, dropping a 1-0 decision at Porto in the UEFA Champions League, and the French press was quick to blame star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, signed from AC Milan in the offseason for $30 million.

Ibra’s poor game — played on his 31st birthday — was offered as proof thathe doesn’t have it when it comes to the Champions League. He showed little except missing two golden chances. The Swede has played for such big clubs as Barcelona, Inter Milan and AC Milan and neverwon the title. His only international club titles in his 16-year career were the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with Barca in 2009.

Coach CarloAncelotti tried to downplay the loss. “Yes, it’s our first defeat this season,” he said, “but it’s no wonder we lost because we faced a team moreexperienced than we are. We are disappointed, however, because we wanted to produce a better game here.”
