Avram Grant may make a shock return to Stamford Bridge as an advisor to Chelsea coach Rafael Benitez, the Daily Mirror reports. Benitez has been on thejob for less than two weeks ago. With the Spaniard suffering abuse from fans and failing to win any of his first three games, owner Roman Abramovich wants to bring in Grant to helpsave the Blues’ season.

According to the report, Grant, who was fired as Chelsea coach after losing the UEFA Champions League final in 2008, is believed to have a good relationship withBenitez. Bringing him in would also provide a readymade replacement should Chelsea’s situation get worse. Under Benitez, Chelsea has registered two 0-0 draws and one 3-1 loss in the EnglishPremier League. Grant has been out of work since leaving Partizen Belgrade by mutual consent at the end of last season.
