[AMERICANS ABROAD] Louisville's Paolo DelPiccolo, taken by Montreal with the 26th pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, is instead headed to Germany, where he signed a six-month deal with Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

DelPiccolo, who skipped the adidas MLS Player Combine to try out for two weeks at Eintracht, finished his four year career at Louisville ranked as the all-time assist leader with 23 career assists.

"I'm extremely excited to be starting my career at Eintracht Frankfurt," said DelPiccolo via his agent. "There is a good environment here, and I feel like people believe in me. I can't wait to get started."

He is expected to play with Eintracht II, its under-23 team, in the Regional Liga.
