  1. How many National Teams do we have???? What in the world? What is id2? Sounds like something out of “Star Wars!”

  2. ID2 is US Club’s version of a National team. Its basically the same as the National team. As most of these kids are coming straight from a week with the National team camp in Carson Ca. It is totally free and sponsored by US club and Nike. Very well run.

  3. ID2 is free? How do they get quality coaches to train the players? You can’t tell me they do it for free?

  4. At that level and the way soccer is growing in the US… why would you not do it for free. It goes on your resume. The players are National level players. However I did only mean that the program is free to the players. I have no Idea whether the coaches are paid or not. I will say that they are very high level coaches as well as the staff that they employ to the camps.

  5. It is sponsored by Nike and US Club Soccer, so my guess is coaches are well paid. Nike gives the kids free stuff but must pay their own travel. There were 2 National Staff Coaches at the Phoenix camp in December and they seem to be working very closely with ID2 with player selection. There really isnt a difference in how they are scouted from the national team so it is the main reason why they are most of the same players.

  6. I would think ID2 would scout a 2nd pool of players that the USSF is unaware of or skeptical about so they can try to prove themselves on an international stage and not most or 1/2 of the same. Their very name stands for Identification Development. If USSF has already identified these players why do it again?? McKeown runs PDA as well. PDA is the only club to have 2 players represented on this Spain trip. The same in 2011 & 2012. There is no longer info on 2010 or before. Might be just a coincidence or that club is really good at development.
