[USL PRO REWIND: Week 9] The Charleston Battery moved into second place in USL PRO behind Orlando City with a 1-0 win at the Houston Dynamo Reserves on Jamaican forward Dane Kelly's goal in the 35th minute. USL PRO clubs are now 3-2-1 against MLS reserve teams in the first year of interleague play.

-- Rochester president Pat Ercoli has been named head coach in place of Jesse Myer following the Rhinos' 1-6-1 start.

“The Rochester Rhinos have a proud tradition, and we have qualified for the playoffs in each of our first 17 years in existence,” Adirondack Sports Club owner and chief executive officer Rob Clark said. “As an organization we were monitoring the situation, and the Rhinos' 1-6-1 record warranted a change. We believe the easiest and most effective transition is for Pat to take on the head coaching responsibilities for the remainder of the season, while we consider a long-term solution for the future.”

Ercoli had coached the Rhinos to three A-League titles and one Open Cup crown during his tenure as head coach (1996-2004).

-- Midfielder Erik Ustruck scored the winner in the 85th minute to give leader Orlando City a 1-0 at the Rochester Rhinos. The Lions won despite playing the last 65 minutes with 10 men after a red card to Jean Alexandre.

-- The Wilmington Hammerheads ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Blues in front of 3,821 fans at Legion Stadium. Wilmington got first-half goals from defenders Jamel Wallace and Daniel Steres.

-- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds and the Dayton Dutch Lions played to a 2-2 draw at Highmark Stadium. The Riverhounds jumped ahead with goals from Jhonny Arteaga and Jose Angulo, but the Dutch Lions battled back to score two goals in the final 25 minutes from Gibson Bardsley and Tjeerd Westdijk.

With the new partnership between Major League Soccer and USL Pro, the game counts for the Dynamo Reserves in the MLS Reserve League standings and for the Battery in the USL Pro standings.

The Dynamo Reserves are now 3-1-0 on the season while the Battery improve to 6-2-0.

Charleston’s gamewinner began on a set piece 35 yards from goal. A short free kick was played to Emmanuel Adjetey, who sent a cross toward the back of the box. Kelly met the cross with a first-touch finish into the far side of the net for his third goal of the season.
