The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is considering taking legal action against Liverpool in a bid to force through a move to Arsenal. The Uruguayanbelieves there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave Liverpool if a Champions League club made a formal offer of over $61.4 million — which Arsenal has done. Liverpool, meanwhile,is disputing the clause, insisting the club is only obliged to inform Suarez of any offers exceeding that amount.

According to the report, Suarez is angered at Liverpool’s attempts toprevent him from leaving. His advisers are now seeking to have their interpretation of the clause ratified by the Premier League. If that fails, Suarez will turn to his legal team to see if the clubis in breach of contract, which could spark an ugly court battle if the player believes he has strong grounds to sue.
