FIFA has asked 2018 World Cup host Russia for “clarification and more details” about the country’s new anti-gay law, which has prompted an international furor. The InternationalOlympic Committee is already seeking answers about how Russia plans to enforce the law during the Sochi Winter Olympics in February.

According to the AP, FIFA supports “zerotolerance against discrimination.” The world soccer governing body’s statutes state that “discrimination of any kind … is strictly prohibited and punishable by suspension or expulsion.”
