Galatasaray earned a 2-2 draw with Juventus at the Juventus Stadium in UEFA Champions League Group B action on Wednesday night in a game described as “strange” by the Turkishgiant’s new coach, Roberto Mancini. “It was a strange game, as Juve went behind and they were awarded a penalty that was, shall we say, strange? I think without that theywould not have been able to score tonight. I don’t think it was a penalty,” the Italian tactician said.
After Arturo Vidal leveled the score from the spot,Fabio Quagliarella, who was fouled in the box for the penalty, headed the host into the lead with just three minutes remaining. However, Juve shut off defensively, and on the verynext play, Didier Drogba, who had scored the opening goal in the first half, placed a looping header into the path of Umut Bulut, who tucked the ball home to levelthe score at 2-2.
“Drogba was incredible and in all honesty I didn’t expect him to play like this. He was extraordinary. I couldn’t do much in two days, so I have so fartried to learn the names of the players and bring a little organization in,” Mancini added.
