Belgium coach Marc Wilmots on Monday revealed that Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj declined the chance to join up with his squad for the time being. The18-year-old, who has yet to make a senior international appearance, also qualifies for Croatia and Albania, while England has also expressed interest in his services.

“We called him,but he has told Manchester United that he isn’t ready to decide about the national team,” Wilmots said. “I have given him a clear signal but you can’t force people. He’s playing well and Iwould welcome him. I gave him the choice.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Manchester United hasoffered Januzaj a close to $100,000 a week to stay at Old Trafford after his brace earned the Red Devils a 2-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday. The Belgian-Kosovan’s current contract expiresat the end of the season, and several other top clubs are interested in his services, which is why United is moving quickly to secure his signature on a new long-term deal.
