UEFA President Michel Platini has suggested that the World Cup should be expanded to 40 teams to include more Asian and African representatives, starting in 2018 in Russia. FIFAPresident Sepp Blatter has also said that he too would like to see more non-European teams at the World Cup, although he would rather see the current field expanded rather than takeaway places from Europe.
