[IMG CUP] Alliance Academy of Grand Rapids, Mich. scored two goals in the second half to blank the U.S. under-17 national team, 2-0, at the IMG Cup in Bradenton,Fla.

Raul Gonzalez broke the deadlock in the 55th minute after a Bradley Dunwell corner, and Jake Love followed with a header in the 70th minute to add a second goal.

Coach Mark Christensen praised the workof defender Josh Robison in front of goalkeeper Kyle Taalman. He also cautioned that Alliance needed to better on itsfinishing and be more focused on set plays.

The U.S. U-17s, winners of last week’s Nike International Friendlies, next face a pair of English clubs, Stevenage (Thursday at 7:30 pm ET) andTottenham (Friday at 5:30 pm ET), at the tournament that continues through Sunday.
