Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be sidelined for at least six weeks after suffering a left-foot fracture in England’s 1-0 win over Denmark on Wednesday.

The22-year-old was injured in a challenge with Danish defender Daniel Agger in the 12th minute and was subbed in the 59th minute of the game at Wembley.

Arsenal will becompensated for the injury by the FA and will not have to pay for Wilshere’s wages while he is on the sidelines. Wilshere’s career has been hampered by injuries, including a stress fracture of hisright ankle that ruled him out for the 2011-12 campaign and forced him to miss Euro 2012.
