AS Roma on Tuesday sold central defender Mehdi Benatia to Bayern Munich on a five-year contract. The Morocco international had also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United andManchester City. The transfer fee is expected to be 26 million euros ($34.3 million) plus a further 4 million ($5.3 million) in performance-related bonuses.
