MetroStars midfielder AMADO GUEVARA notched two goals and two assists in two games last week -- a 3-0 win over Los Angeles and a 2-1 loss to New England -- to notch 6 points and move him into second-place in the MLS scorers race on five goals and four assists for 14 points. San Jose's Brian Ching (7 goals, 1 assist, 15 points) remains the leader. ... Guevara, who scored on a 25-yard shot against the Galaxy and helped create two EDDIE GAVEN goals later in the game, scored from the penalty spot against New England. ... LOS ANGELES rebounded from the midweek loss to the MetroStars with a 1-0 win over Chicago to regain sole possession of first-place in the Western Conference as Kansas City mustered only a tie with San Jose. (Kansas City has a game in hand.)
