Former England captain and Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand has said he plans to retire at the end of the current season. In an interview, the 35-year-old says,  “Iprobably think the end of this season,” when asked about retirement. “I’m not fearful of retirement, I’m looking forward to it, I can see some good stuff hopefully happeningahead.” Ferdinand, a former West Ham, Leeds and Manchester United center-back, has worked as a TV commentator and he has also already begun working towards receiving his coachingcertificate.
