The U.S. under-20 national team fell to England's U-20s, 2-1, before a crowd of more than 11,000 at Plymouth's Home Park.

Maki Tall, currently on loan from Lille to third division Red Star in France, scored the lone goal for the USA in the 73rd minute after the host had taken a 2-0 lead with goals either side of halftime.

Rubio Rubin, who has played twice for Jurgen Klinsmann's full national team, helped set up the U.S. goal with a cross that found Tall.

Just six players who took part in the Concacaf U-20 Championship in January started for the USA.

Coach Tab Ramos' team, which is preparing for the U-20 World Cup that kicks off May 30 in New Zealand, will hold an April camp in Austria that includes games against Qatar and Croatia.
