Barcelona on Monday signed midfielder Arda Turan on a five-year contract from Atletico Madrid for an initial fee of 34 million euros ($37.6 million). Manchester United and Chelsea were bothreported to be interested in signing the Turkey captain, but Barca announced on Monday that it had completed his signing. However, because of Barca’s transfer restriction, Turan will not beeligible to play an official game for Barca until January 2016.
