Manchester United’s teenage signing, Anthony Martial, came under intense criticism after his record $58 million transfer fee for a teenager, but France coachDidier Deschamps believes the 19-year-old Martial has silenced his critics in France with his EPL start.
“He has proved his critics wrong with hisperformances and with the goals he managed to score,” said Deschamps ahead of a pair of friendlies for the Euro 2016 hosts against Armenia and Denmark. “He still has steps to take in his development.It changed his world moving to Manchester United this summer.”
Martial has two caps for France, debut off the bench in a pair of wins in September.
“But Anthony joined us because I thinkhe has a lot of potential,” added Deschamps. “He is not very outspoken but it does not bother me with players who just joined the national team, it is often like that.”
