Conmebol president Juan Angel Napout said the South American body would vote “as a bloc” (10 votes) for UEFA’s Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency at the February election for asuccessor to Sepp Blatter. “We have spoken with Gianni to set out what is needed,” he added after a Conmebol meeting in Rio de Janeiro. Infantino is UEFA’s secretary general. He has said hewill stand aside if his boss, UEFA president Michel Platini, is allowed to stand.
