On not calling up Sebastian Giovinco, who has 21 goals and 17 assists in Toronto FC’s run to the MLS semifinals, Italy coach Giampiero Ventura said “he plays ina league that doesn’t count for much.”
Giovinco, last season’s MLS MVP, has made only has made only two substitute appearances for Italy, under Ventura’s predecessor AntonioConte.
