NCAA small colleges: Two rounds complete

Play began in the NCAA Division II and III men’s and women’s tournaments. The Division II semifinals and final will be played Dec. 1-3 at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri,  TheDivision III championship games will be held Dec. 2-3 in Salem, Virginia.

MEN’S DIVISION II.  Two regional No. 1 seeds — SimonFraser (shootout loss to Cal Poly Pomona) and Lynn (1-0 loss to Tampa) — fell on the first weekend of tournament play.

MEN’S DIVISION III. The top six teams in the NSCAA rankingsadvanced to the third round. No. 7 Carthage fell to Benedictine (Ill.) in the first round.
