Donnarumma gets support from Costacurta for move to leave Milan

AC Milan's 18-year-old goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, will not extend his contract with the Italian club when it expires after next season. While the move caught some by surprise, former AC Milan star Alessandro Costacurta said the move makes sense.

"I'm not very surprised," Costacurta, who spent 21 years at Milan, told Sky Sport Italia. "It's also understandable in a certain way. Each and every solicitor wants to go and work in the most reputed law firm, any professor would like to teach at Harvard and AC Milan are just not one of the best clubs in the world right now. Donnarumma may have changed his original idea and decided to go in a different direction. Behind his decision is the lure of a club who, at the moment, are more attractive economically and have a greater pulling power in the eyes of that extraordinary goalkeeper.
