Defender Hector Moreno scored on a header off the post in stoppage time to give Mexico a 2-2 tie with Portugal in their opening game at the Confederations Cup in Russia.

Host Russia and Chile both won by scores of 2-0. The first match day ends Monday when Germany plays Australia.
