Pulisic breaks another record with German Super Cup goal

Christian Pulisic needed less than 12 minutes to score his first goal of the 2017-18 German season, but Borussia Dortmund fell to Bayern Munich in the 18th edition of the German Super Cup after twice leading in the 90 minutes and also in the shootout.

Starting on the left wing, Pulisic stole the ball from Bayern Munich defender Javi Martinez and neatly slotted the ball past keeper Sven Ulreich. At 18, Pulisic is the youngest player ever to score in the Super Cup, which matches the German league and cup winners in the first official match of the season.

Dortmund led 1-0 and 2-1 in regulation but Bayern equalized on an own goal in the 88th minute. Dortmund led into the fourth round of the shootout that followed the 90 minutes but missed two of its final three penalties.

"If you're 2-1 up with two minutes remaining, then you have to win the match," said new Dortmund coach Peter Bosz. "But we didn't. We were in the lead on three occasions if you include the penalty shootout. That's why we're disappointed."

There is no young player in the UK as good as Pulisic. It is time for the US to surpass England in soccer.

Dele Alli is currentlly better than Pulisic. Of course he's also 21. As of his 19th birthday (which is coming soon for Pulisic) Alli was still playing at MK Dons in League One.
