The LDGA camps are open to boys and girls of age 10-18 who are dedicated to goalkeeping and are willing to work hard to excel at that position. Designed for the serious goalkeeper, the LDGA camp focuses on both the physical and the mental aspect of goalkeeping. Its goal is to enhance each player’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological ability in order to become a successful goalkeeper. The LDGA camp’s professional staff will train and mentor the goalkeepers and ensure that they maximize their potential and improve their skills before leaving the camp.
In addition to teaching the technical and tactical skills required by goalkeepers, the LDGA camps also focus on teaching the goalkeepers to establish a presence and be leaders on the field. Most activities are performed in a game like environment to ensure that the goalkeepers understand when to apply the technical and tactical skills. At the LDGA camps, youngsters learn that it is as important to prevent shots, as it is to make a save.
