2. AWARDS: UCLA's Adams takes women's honors

U.S. U-20 star Danesha Adams is the Soccer America Women's Player of the Week.

Playing her first matches of the season after returning from the Under-20 Women's World Championships in Russia, Adams led UCLA to wins over No. 4 Texas A&M, 2-1, and No. 12 Connecticut, 3-0, at the UCLA Women's Cup.

Adams, who won the Bronze Ball in Russia for finishing third in MVP balloting, scored the 5-1-0 Bruins' first goal against Texas A&M on Friday evening. Against UConn two days later, Adams had two more goals, including the game-winner.
