The elbow injury suffered by Kasey Keller in WednesdayÆs practice during non-contact training drill kept him out of training on Thursday. ''He suffered a contusion on his left elbow and he
is day-to-day,'' said U.S. Soccer spokesman Jim Moorhouse. The Federation said tests conducted at a Korean hospital on Wednesday night came back negative and his condition will be evaluated
on a day-to-day basis. ''Kasey's injury, from what I understand at the moment, is nothing that we need to be concerned about in the long term,'' U.S. coach Bruce Arena said.
''It's something of the short term and whether that means another day, another few days, three days, four days, who knows. ''We have to see how he responds to treatment but we
are not concerned that Kasey's injury is one which is going to interfere with his ability to play in this World Cup.'' Arena added that he hasnÆt decided whether Keller or Brad Friedel
will start in the USAÆs June 5 opener against Portugal.
