2. WOMEN: No. 1 Noles beat UCF in driving rain

Florida State, ranked No. 1 in the Soccer America Women's Top 25, got goals from Australian Sel Kuralay (her fourth straight game with at least one goal) and Japanese midfielder Mami Yamaguchi to beat Central Florida, 2-0, on Wednesday in a game played in the driving rain.

The skies didn't open up until FSU and UCF took the field for warm-ups an hour before kickoff. With the rain continuing to pour down throughout the first half, the ball was skipping on the wet field and then getting stuck in puddles.

Said Kuralay, "It was, pretty much in the first half, impossible to play soccer. It was more like a rugby game than anything."
