Katia in, Venturini out

Bay Area forward Katia, who sprained her left ankle in the CyberRays 1-1 tie with Boston yesterday, is expected to play in the CyberRays game Sunday against the Philadelphia Charge. The Brazilian forward, who scored the teamÆs first official goal in the 59th minute in the home opener against the Breakers, was carried from the field in the 88th minute after spraining her left ankle. The ankle was X-rayed Monday as a precautionary measure and no further damage was found. Tisha Venturini, who fractured her left wrist in the CyberRaysÆ April 14 inaugural game against the Washington Freedom, had her wrist re-set and re-casted last week and she was returned to the seven-day injury list. Although she would be eligible to play in Philadelphia, Bay Area coach Ian Sawyers said she would not make the trip.

Chastain on "Letterman"

Brandi Chastain flew to New York on Monday afternoon to tape a guest appearance on CBSÆs "Late Night with David Letterman" on Tuesday night.

Webber starts after Moore's bad break

Philadelphia's Saskia Webber started at Atlanta on Saturday after opening-game starter Melissa Moore broke her hand in practice. Webber made six saves in a 0-0 tie. Moore, who posted the shutout in Philadelphia's 2-0 win in San Diego, fractured the fourth metacarpal in her right hand in practice last week and will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. The Charge activated goalkeeper Laurie Pells from the reserve squad prior to the Atlanta match.
