MSG, Metro, FSN carry local Power broadcasts

The New York Power will have its full 2001 game schedule broadcast on TV with the majority of its local broadcasts aired on MSG Network and the remainder on Metro and FOX Sports Net (FSN). MSG Network will air a total of ten Power games (six at home, four on the road), which began with the club's home opener at Mitchel Athletic Complex on April 29. The Metro will cover four games while one game will be carried on FSN. The Power's remaining five games will be carried nationally on CNNSI or TNT. "We are very excited to be part of the MSG family," New York GM Susan Marenoff said. "The NY Power hosts some of the best athletes in the world and when you think of New YorkÆs premiere professional sports teams, you think of MSG." "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be associated with such an exciting new sports league," MSG Networks Executive Vice President Mike McCarthy said. "WomenÆs soccer is one of the fastest growing sports and we believe the WUSA will be entertaining fans for many years to come." Anchoring the broadcast team will be veteran soccer broadcaster Joe Tolleson. Joe has also been calling games for the MLS Metro Stars since their inception in 1996. Tolleson brings international experience as he has called a number of Italian and Dutch League matches for ESPN International. Heard on WFAN (660AM), Joe has been and update anchor, talk show host and reporter with the station since 1995. Joining Joe in the broadcast booth will be a trio of color commentating specialists throughout the season. Ellen Weinberg, Lori Walker and Amy Allmann will rotate duties in the booth, each giving a different perspective through their expert analysis. Finishing out the broadcast team will be sideline reporter Brad Feldman who will complete the show by giving his field level perspective and game time interviews.
