Honduran soccer federation president Lisandro Flores Guillen blamed the Catrachos' recent problems on the poor form of the foreign-based players. Flores' comments would indicate that there will
be no coaching change for the time being despite Honduras' poor start in World Cup qualifying (loss at home to the United States and ties with Costa Rica and Jamaica on the road) and its surprise
elimination from the UNCAF Cup, which it's hosting. That would be good news for embattled coach Ramon Maradiaga. Many of the foreign-based players don't start or are injured. Flores said the
only two players in top form are Amado Guevara (Neza/Mexico) and David Suazo (Cagliari/Italy). He said a key would be getting Jose Luis Pineda and Carlos Pavon back to top form.
