2. MLS: Red cards fly; Teenager strikes Red Bulls winner

The weekend's five MLS games produced as many red cards as goals - seven. In the one high-scoring game, Real Salt Lake prevented West leader FC Dallas from clinching a playoff spot with a 3-2 win in which Salt Lake got goals from Andy Williams, Chris Klein and Jason Kreis, whose seventh goal of the season increases his record number of career league goals to 107

The New York Red Bulls won, 1-0, over lowly Columbus thanks to 30-yard shot from 16-year-old Josmer Altidore, a New Jersey native and former member of the U.S. U-17 Residency Program. Two Crew players and a Red Bull were ejected.

Costa Rican forward Andy Heron scored his seventh goal of the season to give Chicago a 1-0 win over D.C. United, which had Brian Namoff and Joshua Gross red-carded.

Chivas USA, playing a man down for 31 minutes, earned a scoreless tie at Houston that keeps the Goats three points within the playoff zone with four games left. ... Los Angeles remains in the West cellar after a scoreless with fourth-place Colorado.
