UCLA sophomore Maxwell Griffin
, who led the Bruins to big victories over a pair of Top 10 teams last
weekend, is the Soccer America Men's Player of the Week.
In a 2-1 victory over then-No. 9 Santa Clara on Friday, Griffin broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 67th minute, and just 19
seconds later, assisted on teammate Jason Leopoldo
's goal that put the Bruins up 2-0.
Griffin, who celebrated his 19th birthday on Sunday, also
scored first for UCLA in a 2-0 win over then-No. 8 San Francisco, striking in the 17th minute after receiving a pass from Chance Myers
and dribbling between
two defenders to take the shot.
