We Needed That, says Crespo of Inter Win

Hernan Crespo believes Inter Milan's convincing performance in its 1-0 win at Roma Wednesday night at the Stadio Olimpico will be enough to ease the tension hanging over the club after a poor performance in a 1-0 loss to Sporting in the Champions League and a dour 1-1 draw at home to lowly Sampdoria. "Victories like this are good for the club," said Crespo, who was the deserved man-of-the-match after scoring a lovely solo goal. "After our draw with Sampdoria, despite the fact we deserved all three points there, there was a bit too much talk around the team." Brazilian striker Adriano was once again dropped by Coach Roberto Mancini in favor of the Crespo-Zlatan Ibrahimovic partnership, which is looking increasingly dangerous. Ibrahimovic was unlucky not to score on several occasions yesterday; he also missed a penalty. "Now I am playing regularly, but the time will come when I'll need a rest and stay on the bench," Crespo said. "It's not a problem for me, nobody dies because they sit on the sidelines. We must always be ready for when we are needed."
