UIC, the sensation of the men's college season, fell from the unbeaten ranks when it lost at
Wisconsin,
1-0, on Thursday night.
Eric Conklin scored the game's only goal for the Badgers on a header off a free kick taken by Zack Lambo in the 19th minute.
"Teams are up for us," said
UIC coach John Trask. "When you're up there ranked, it's a whole new ballgame."
The Flames, who wrapped up a six-game road swing, dropped to 7-1-2.
UIC's loss left only five
unbeaten teams in the NCAA Division I men's ranks: No. 1.
SMU (10-0-1), No. 2.
Clemson (8-0-1), No. 4.
Washington (8-0-0), 24.
Fordham (5-0-2) and unranked
Colgate (6-0-2).
