3. WOMEN: Carolina captures 11th win in a row

No. 2 North Carolina won its 11th game in a row with a 2-0 win at Clemson thanks to first-half goals by freshman defender Ali Hawkins and sophomore midfielder Yael Averbuch. Sophomore Anna Rodenbough picked up her eighth solo shutout of the season in the Tar Heels' 12 games.
No. 3 Florida State's troubles with Virginia as the No. 11 Cavaliers held the Seminoles to a 0-0 tie. Virginia remains the only ACC team Florida State has never beaten. The Cavs lead the series 13-0-2.
In other ACC action, No. 16 Wake Forest endured a hour-long rain delay to beat Maryland, 2-1, on goals by Amanda Lebo and Kristina Hanley.
No. 18 Boston University defeated No. 24 Maine, 1-0, to hand the Black Barons their first loss of the season. Freshman Farrell McClernon's goal was the difference in the match, the first meeting ever between two America East teams ranked in the Top 25.
Freshmen Katrina Chong and Lacey Bartels took care of all of the scoring today as No. 23 Loyola Marymount defeated UC Riverside, 3-0. Chong scored twice, and Bartels added a goal and an assist in the victory.
