Unrest Continues at West Ham

West Ham United's board members are meeting Wednesday to discuss whether to issue an ultimatum to Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian to either put up or shut up about taking the club over. There is growing concern at Upton Park that the Iranian's intentions are interfering with Alan Pardew's efforts to manage the club. After all, Joorabchian is the man who orchestrated the transfer of Argentine pair Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez to West Ham. However, West Ham is winless since their arrival, having now lost five straight games in all competitions. Pardew was set to meet with Chairman Terry Brown over his concerns, which likely include the possible takeover of the club by Joorabchian. The Iranian stated that he was still no closer to launching a bid for the East London club. It has been reported that he's having trouble raising the $150 million necessary to complete the takeover. The aura of unrest hanging over the club has no doubt contributed to West Ham's poor performances on the field. The club may ask London's Takeover Panel to issue a deadline for Joorabchian to put an offer on the table. Meanwhile, Joorabchian's Argentines have proven to be anything but a panacea. Neither speaks English, and they've both looked out of sorts on the field. In fact, Mascherano is already rumored to be on his way out in January, possibly to Juventus, according to recent comments by Juve coach Didier Deschamps.
